This album is dedicated to the present moment, to the eternal simplicity of being aware of the sound and emotion that come with now and here.
The album is a mix of older and newer compositions that depict the artist soul’s journey to discover his own way of hearing and feeling in the present moment. The compositions are interpreted in a new way as solo and, all convey a light, but profound melancholy tinge. The spectacular mannerism is absent in the interpretation to give way to the cool, but vibrant improvisations that create unique melodies and moods.
«Aux Losanges» in Tschiertschen with its timeless existence and beauty was the main source of the artist’s inspiration. Its ageless sophistication and splendid views show us how to be thankful for the now and here, especially in difficult and disoriented times, like the ones we are living now.
From the artist’s perspective, the Illinois-born pianist and composer, John Lewis, was a big inspiration for the sound culture for this solo recording, in particularly through his "breathing style" of interpretation and awareness of dynamics. Lewis’s understated, earnest and honest playing expression also reminds us of the conflictual times we are living in and prompts us to enjoy the moment.

He is the leader of the «Yves Theiler Trio».
As a co-member, he is part of the «DUO Omri Ziegele & Yves Theiler» and the collective Trio «Things To Sounds».

As a composer and arranger he works/worked for his piano trio, for the Zürich Jazz Werkstatt, the acoustic guitar duo «Duo Marvin» and as an arranger he recomposed Wagner pieces for Jazz Duo for the Zürcher Festspiele 2013. ... more
